The apartment is, uh, cozy, but the huge backyard might make up for that
Welcome back to The Six Digit Club, in which we take a look at a newish-to-market listing priced under $1 million, because nice things sometimes come in small packages. Send nominations to the tipline.
This may be one of the largest backyards we’ve seen tacked onto a relatively modest apartment. This one bedroom, located at 206 East 90th Street, in Yorkville, has just hit the market for $549,000. The pad comes in at 700 square feet and while the listing doesn’t offer square footage of the outdoor space, it looks like it could be larger than that (and larger than the apartment itself, really). Currently, the backyard offers a little bit of everything: some grass, a paved patio space, some landscaping, some furniture. But with a little determination—and design sense—this could be a downright incredible addition.
Inside, the apartment, outfitted with exposed brick and wood flooring, looks pretty straightforward. The listing offers no details (or floorplan) whatsoever, but here’s what we’ve surmised from photos: it looks like a long, narrow ground-floor apartment that’s not getting great light, enormous backyard aside. The living room looks cozy, the bedroom is big-ish, and there’s enough room in the apartment for a dedicated office space. The kitchen is situated at the back of the apartment, and leads out to the glorious outdoor space.
