It was first listed back in 2013 for a much lower price

One of the last remaining sponsor units at Herzog & de Meuron’s Jenga-like glass tower in TriBeCa finally went into contract last week, according to Olshan Realty’s latest Luxury Market Report. The expansive full-floor penthouse unit first appeared on the market back in 2013 listed at $25.5 million, but—after a mysteriously long hiatus—the place got a significant price bump, with a final asking price of $34.5 million.

The hyper-contemporary five-bedroom condo has north, south, east, and west exposures, offering “panoramic views from river to river.” Obviously, the place has tons of floor-to-ceiling windows—it is, after all, a glass tower—a “skyline view gallery,” and two separate terraces, also with excellent skyline views.

Non-skyline features include a custom sculptural fireplace and a grand piano-shaped kitchen island (complete with a custom-sculpted floating hood from the future). The kitchen is outfitted with all the brand-name appliances one would expect; the master bath is a windowed palace; and the floors throughout are Appalachian white oak.

While it is too late for this one, there are a smattering of units still available in the 60-story building, including a smaller, four-bedroom penthouse listed for $17.75 million.
