See what $4,500/month gets you in neighborhoods like Greenpoint, Chelsea, Astoria, and Hell’s Kitchen

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a weekly column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various NYC neighborhoods. Is one man’s studio another man’s townhouse? Let’s find out! Today, we’re looking at apartments renting around $4,500.

↑ Though it recently received a gut renovation, this lovely Greenpoint apartment still has some of its classic details and an expansive layout. The space has two bedrooms and includes exposed brick, decorative fireplaces, pressed tin ceilings, and an enviable kitchen equipped with top-notch appliances. It’s renting for $4,500.

↑ A sunny one-bedroom in Chelsea is also going for $4,500/month. While the natural light is probably the best amenity this place is offering, there are other noteworthy ones: high ceilings, a large open living and dining room, a nice-sized kitchen, and views of the Empire State Building.

↑ A lovely Park Slope apartment with at least two bedrooms (the listing calls it a “two plus bedroom”) is also asking an even $4,500/month. It has lots of charming details like a decorative fireplace, exposed brick, and original hardwood floors.

↑ In Hell’s Kitchen, a two-bedroom apartment with sweeping views of the Hudson River comes with the option of being delivered furnished or unfurnished. The apartment, asking $4,499 a month, has floor-to-ceiling windows, marble bathrooms, and walk-in closets.

↑ $4,523 is the magic number for this spacious three-bedroom unit in Astoria. Two bathrooms, a large kitchen, ample storage space, and a private terrace are among this apartment’s features.

↑ A two-bedroom, two-bathroom duplex in Harlem is going for $4,500. The apartment is quite spacious and has hardwood floors throughout, along with a laundry room and a pretty sizable backyard.
